Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD)

Our Directors have extensive experience in delivering Data Centres for reputable clients whilst integrating industry leading software. With our engineering expertise we can assist in improving the performance and operation of your data centre by using leading heat transfer and airflow modelling software 6SigmaDC. This service can be carried out for a legacy or new build Data Centre.

PPa can create many CFD models reflecting different conceptual designs or configurations. By default, new models are created with raised floors but this can be easily changed to include drop ceilings with or without raised floors, and internal or external cooling, plus many more variations.

Creating a 3D Virtual Facility CFD model which can be used to understand the placement of not only the cooling and IT equipment within the architectural design but also power systems, cables, pipes, bunds, etc, and their interaction, in turn makes it easy to evaluate the likely thermal performance of different conceptual designs and layouts for any new facility or upgrade.

Whatever the reason for initial creation of the CFD model provides a basis for on-going management so that you can not only design but also manage the facility and its configuration with confidence.

Using AMTECH power software we can carry out full electrical design and calculation to BS 7671, produce schematics to select and calculate cable sizes, volt drop levels and system impedances. Selection and settings for protective devices and produce protection studies including discrimination studies and ensuring our clients have the optimum design solution.
